Thin Corn Bread

 I could imagine this being served at Randall's Ordinary in North Stonington (CT) in a cast iron skillet over a flaming hearth. 

Ingredients

1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
butter the size of an egg - melted
1 and 1/2 cup boiling water

Process

Mix all ingredients and beat well. Bake 20 minutes.
