This was definitely a favorite for my parents and I even recall the frozen Stauffer's version of this being a staple in our freezer.
"Place finely minced beef in stewpan with a lump of butter. Cook for 2 minutes, moisten slightly with a little cream, add 2 tbs of Bechamel Sauce. Bring to a boil and serve"
Well, clearly Bechamel was an ice box staple!
