Quiche Lorraine

  Quiche Lorraine

Ingredients

6 thick slices of bacon
12 thin slices Swiss cheese
4 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups light cream
1 Tablespoon flour
ground nutmeg
freshly ground black pepper
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell

Process

"Cut bacon slices in half, cut cheese in pieces the same size. Fry bacon until crisp, drain. Line pie plate with unbaked pie shell. Over lap bacon and cheese slices to cover the bottom of crust. Combine eggs, cream, flour, nutmeg, a few grains cayenne and pour over the bacon and cheese. Bake in a 400 degree oven until set. "

Garden Quiche!

This beautiful yummy dinner we had this week was made with eggs form our hens and broccoli and quiche from the garden. It tasted amazing!

Potato Quiche

Ingredients
9” pastry shell (many recipes on blog)
2 cups mashed potatoes
1/2 cup light cream
1 Tablespoon butter
3/4 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 and 1/2 cup shredded swiss cheese
4 cups onions.

Process
  1. Preheat oven to 375 or 400 degrees.
  2. Combine potaotes, cream and butter.
  3. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, eggs and spices and beat until smooth.
  4. Stir in potato mixture.
  5. Add swiss cheese and onion.
  6. Put ingredients into pie shell and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  7. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

Quiche Lorraine

A classic recipe for lunch or for dinner! I like the assembly in the version and that it uses sliced instead of shredded cheese! For those that don't like Swiss cheese, I am sure you can exchange it for any other sliced cheese! Yum!

Ingredients:
6 thick slices bacon
12 thin slices Swiss cheese
4 eggs lightly beaten
2 cups light cream
1 Tablespoon flour
ground nutmeg
freshly ground pepper
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell

Process:
  • Preheat oven 400 degrees.
  • Cut bacon slices in half and cut cheese slices the same size.
  • Fry bacon until crisp. Drain.
  • Line pie plate with unbaked pie shell.
  • Overlap bacon and cheese slices to cover bottom of crust.
  • In bowl, combine eggs, cream, flour pinch of nutmeg and a few grains cayenne and black pepper. Beat well, strain, and pour over bacon and cheese.
  • Bake in oven until set.
