Royal Consomme

 My grandmothers loved lunching on consomme, but this recipe does not sound like what I am remembering. 

"Beat two eggs, add 1/2 cup milk and a pinch of salt. Pour into pot and put over hot water. Bake in oven until firm. Cook and cut into squares. Pour over them boiling consomme."

OK, where's the recipe for the consomme?
