Chocolate Roll

This is another Baba dessert! She wrote, "Great for a party!"

5 egg yolks beaten for 5 minutes
5 egg whites, beaten stiff
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 level teaspoon cornstarch
2 Tablespoons ground chocolate
5 egg whites , beaten stiff
1/2 pint whipped cream
sugar and vanilla to taste

  • Preheat oven 350
  • Combine first 5 ingredients
  • Fold in whites of eggs.
  • Bake in flat pan lined with paper, buttered and floured, about ten minutes
  • Turnout on board and roll up while warm.
  • Before serving unroll and spread with 1/2 pint whipped cream with a little sugar and vanilla.
  • Re-roll and slice.
  • Serve with chocolate sauce.
