2 cups cold cooked hominy grits
1 cup warm milk
1 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons butter
2 eggs, separated
butter to grease a baking dish
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Take cold cooked grits and add 2 cup warm milk.
- Heat mixture to soften, beat well and stir in salt and butter.
- Once it has cooked some, add well beaten egg yolks.
- Let cool.
- Gently mix in stiffly beaten egg whites.
- Turn into buttered baking dish and place in oven until it becomes a delicate brown and firm through out.
